Questions & Answers

A: Currently, I serve the Washington DC Metropaliton Area.

A: For me it would be best to wait until after your first trimester and submit a note from your primary care provider.

A: My calendar fills up fast so the earlier the better your chances will be that I am available. I
suggest waiting until after your 20 week ultrasound to be sure all is well with the baby.

A: Yes!....

A: Yes, I do. While you will obviously not need me for labor support, I will be able to assist you
with recovery, breastfeeding support, and some postpartum care. There is a $100 discount off my
services if a c-section is scheduled in advance.

A: I arrange for (2) backups for any births I sign up with!! See below for refund information if I am unable to make your birth for any reason.

Q: How Is Payment Handled?
A: After the consultation, if you are interested in my services, typically you will sign a contract and leave a deposit of $275 to which $150 is non-refundable and a post dated check to me for the balance (post dated check will not be deposit until after delivery ).
Q: Do You Offer Military Discounts?
A: I am so grateful for our brave men and women in uniform, I offer volunteer services as a birth companion / labor doula with CAPPA OSD (operation special delivery).

Q: Why Do I Have To Prepay For Services?
A: I am committing myself to being on call just for you and your family for a period of time around your due date. Once the baby comes, you will not have to
worry about payment for doula services.

Q: How Are Cancellations / Refunds Handled?

A: All details on cancellations and refunds are spelled out on the contract itself. But basically:

There are no refunds in the event of rapid labor, your failure to call me before too late into labor and/or before you deliver the baby as I have committed myself to your due date. It is up to the client to keep me informed of contrations/water breaking etc.

Should I be unable to make the birth for any personal reason / unforeseen circumstances and a backup is not available, your posted check of the balance due will be returned.

In the event of a scheduled c-section, I will refund $100 of the total service. The remainder is to cover my expenses in your prenatal and postpartum care.
